Tamang Heritage Trail Trekking, an exclusive pleasant walks around high hills and green valley of massive range of Langtang and Ganesh Himal, where our route leads you close to Tibet / China border on this beautiful and scenic Tamang Heritage Trail.

Tamang Heritage Trail trekking, a classic journey where you will witness and soak in local cultures and great traditional of ancient heritage that still exists in Nepal, which you will find quite different than other normal trekking.

Tamang people the high hill tribes of Nepal Himalaya spread-out in most parts of the country towards North-South-East Western, where most of Tamang concentrated around Langtang and Ganesh Himal region, where this beautiful adventure leads you to explore its impressive villages and monasteries in the shade of high Central Himalayan peaks.
Tamang are of Buddhist religion and as well practice ancient arts and culture of Bon sect (pre-Buddhism) that leads to miracles and magical tantric interwoven with Tibetan heritage and life style as it was for many past centuries.

Beginning Tamang Heritage Trail trekking, taking and exciting overland drive towards North Mid –West around Rasuwa district within Langtang Himal, where walk starts with unique incredible views of peaks with dramatic landscapes.

As walk follows into nice and interesting villages of Gatlang and then at Tatopani, a place with natural hot-spring where you can enjoy a dip in the warm pools along with local culture and then entering into deep alpine cool forested areas reaching near to Nepal / Tibet border.

Finally after exciting and impressive walks around villages and lovely woodland heading back at Syabrubesi village for interesting scenic drive back to Kathmandu, after excellent moment and adventure on Tamang Heritage Trail trekking.

Day 01: Reach Kathmandu 1,345 m and then transfer to respective Hotels

Day 02: In Kathmandu sightseeing tour and preparations for the trek.

Day 03: Drive to Syabrubesi 1,470 m via Trisuli and Dhunche town 1,950 - 06 hrs.

Day 04: Trek to Gatlang village 2,350 m - 06 hrs.       

Day 05: Trek to Tatopani 2,607 m - 05 hrs.

Day 01: Reach Kathmandu 1,345 m and then transfer to respective Hotels

On reaching at Kathmandu international airport received by our representative and guide, then transfer for short drive in the heart of Kathmandu city and to your hotels. After checking into your pleasant rooms then join in for group briefing regarding Tamang Heritage Trail treks with other useful information to make your stay in Nepal with us more enjoyable and worth-while. Evening includes group dinner in a nice Nepalese restaurant with cultural programs as entertainment.

Day 02: In Kathmandu sightseeing tour and preparations for Langtang trek.

Morning after breakfast in the hotel, our tour guide will take you in the heart of Kathmandu city, for exciting historical and heritage tour of old Durbar (royal palace and courtyard) square of great importance.

Tour includes Temple of Kumari (Living young virgin Goddess) Kastamandap Temple where Kathmandu name derived from, a temple built with the wood of a single tree, tour of old palace during the reign of Malla and late Shah kings.

As tour continues towards famed landmark of Nepal at Swayambhunath Stupa of more than 2,500 years old a Buddhist Chaitya or Stupa, facing all seeing eyes of Lord Buddha, as tour continues towards famed landmark of Nepal at Swayambhunath Stupa of more than 2,500 years old a Buddhist Chaitya or Stupa, facing all seeing eyes of Lord Buddha.

Afternoon tour of famous Hindu Temple of Pashupatinath and visit Bouddhanath Stupa, one of the largest dome shaped monument in Asia of Buddhist religion and culture.
After an exciting and interesting tour head back to hotel preparation for Tamang Heritage Trail trek.

Day 03: Drive to Syabrubesi 1,470 m via Trisuli and Dhunche town 1,950 - 06 hrs.

Morning starts with an interesting overland journey heading towards North-West on the highway to Langtang Himal, to reach Dhunche the headquarter town of Rasuwa district around Langtang, as drive leads past to Syabrubesi village to end the long exciting drive.

Day 04: Trek to Gatlang village 2,350 m - 06 hrs.   

First day walk leads past Syabrubesi village heading towards Gatlang on route visiting small Goljung village, as walks leads with views Ganesh Himal, Langtang Lirung and other adjoining peaks. 

Finally ending our pleasant walk with slow climb to reach a large Tamang village at Gatlang for overnight stop, on arrival warm welcome greeted with Khada (religious silk scarf) and transfers you to local homes for overnight stay, with time to visit around the villages and interact with the locals.

Gatlang, situated on high hillside within terraced farm fields marked with traditional stone houses. One can visit a Tamang monastery and beautiful Parvatikunda Lake at Gatlang. The cultural show at Goljung and Gatlang makes your trekking an unforgettable experience.

Day 05: Trek to Tatopani 2,607 m - 05 hrs.

 Today's walk begins with a descent to Thangbuchet, on the way enjoy views of Langtang Mountain range and Ganesh Himal with Tibet Mountains towards north, walk leads past small farm villages and into alpine woodlands to reach at Tatopani for overnight stop. Afternoon visit hot springs ‘Tatopani’ means hot water rising from the fresh spring with time for short walk around villages.

Tatopani signifies 'hot water’; it is believed that a dip into the spring heals you from pain and aches and relaxes your tired muscles, afternoon with time to experience Tamang culture exploring the village and interacting with the locals.

Day 06: Trek to Thuman 2,400 m - 06 hrs. 

Morning walk from Tatopani leads to another nice village at Thuman via Nagthali and Bimthang as walk leads into dense alpine forest, chances of spotting monkeys and deer. On reaching Nagthali with clear views of Langtang Himal, Kerung, Ganesh Himal. Nagthali used to be a popular meditation center of local monks and priests. From here another hour walks to reach at cultural village of Thuman, where you can observe Shamanic performances with view of Langtang Himal.

Day 07: Trek to Briddim 2,229 m -05 hrs.

From Thuman trek leads to Briddim village on route visit nearby historical Rasuwagadi the border of Nepal / Tibet, China with an old fort. The fort here is a historical reminder of the Nepal Tibetan relations that have existed for many centuries. Walk today leads you with an opportunity to observe Tamang culture and traditional village life.

After an interesting time with views of Ganesh and Langtang Himal, a nice and pleasant walk on winding path with a climb to a ridge overlooking more views of mountains and surrounding landscapes and entering rhododendron, pines and oaks forest, and then climb with short downhill to reach at Briddim for overnight stop.

Briddim, another Tibetan Buddhist village located on old trade route of Nepal and Tibet here with wonderful time enjoying folk and cultural show performed by local community.

Day 08: Trek to Lama Hotel 2,480 m - 06 hrs.

Trek from Briddim is pleasant with few short up and down for a while but the rest of the walk is gradual on the winding trail through the terraced farm fields and villages, as the trail descends and joins the path coming from upper Thulo Syabru and Syabrubesi near Riverside Lodge, as the walk leads into cool forest within a river gorge of Trisuli River in the middle of rhododendron and oaks forest after five or six hours walks reaching a small clearing at Lama-Hotel for overnight stop.

Day 09: Trek to Syabrubesi - 06 hours walk.

Our last day trekking of this fabulous journeylead back to Syabrubesi as the morning walk follows the same trail with much downhill passing spread-out farm villages and terrace fields and eventually reaching at Bhote Kosi River which later joins with Trisuli River, after crossing a suspension bridge a pleasant walk brings you at Syabrubesi for last and final overnights around Langtang Himal area and Rasuwa district.

Day 10: Drive back to Kathmandu and transfer to respective hotels.

Morning an early drive back to Kathmandu on same interesting highway with exciting moments as drive leads through rural farm villages and towns with views of mountains after six hours journey ending at Kathmandu, and then transfer to your respective hotels.

Day 11: In Kathmandu for individual activities and optional tour.

In Kathmandu reserved this extra day for you to enjoy individual activities and shopping souvenirs or join in another exciting tour around Kathmandu-Patan / Lalitpur and Bhaktapur of great interest.

Day 12: Depart for International flights homeward bound.

Final and last day in Nepal, country of high Himalaya and varied culture, after a memorable experience and great scenic cultural adventure on Tamang Heritage Trail, as per your time for international flight our staff transfer you to the airport for  homeward bound or to your next port of call and respective destinations.
