Kathmandu Valley Rim Trek

Day 01: Reach Kathmandu 1,345 m and then transfer to respective Hotels

On reaching at Kathmandu international airport received by our representative and guide, then transfer for short drive in the heart of Kathmandu city and to your hotels.

After checking into your pleasant rooms then join in for group briefing regarding Kathmandu Valley Rim hike with other useful information to make your stay in Nepal with us more enjoyable and worth-while.

Evening includes group dinner in a nice Nepalese restaurant with cultural programs as entertainment.

Day 02: In Kathmandu sightseeing tour and preparations for trek.

Morning after breakfast in the hotel, our tour guide will take you in the heart of Kathmandu city, for exciting historical and heritage tour of old Durbar (royal palace and courtyard) square of great importance.

Tour includes Temple of Kumari (Living young virgin Goddess) Kastamandap Temple where Kathmandu name derived from, a temple built with the wood of a single tree, tour of old palace during the reign of Malla and late Shah kings.

As tour continues towards famed landmark of Nepal at Swayambhunath Stupa of more than 2,500 years old a Buddhist Chaitya or Stupa, facing all seeing eyes of Lord Buddha, as tour continues towards famed landmark of Nepal at Swayambhunath Stupa of more than 2,500 years old a Buddhist Chaitya or Stupa, facing all seeing eyes of Lord Buddha.

Afternoon tour of famous Hindu Temple of Pashupatinath and visit Bouddhanath Stupa, one of the largest dome shaped monument in Asia of Buddhist religion and culture, after an exciting and interesting tour head back to hotel preparation for Kathmandu Valley Rim Hike.

Day 03: Drive to Sundarijal 1,470 m and walk to Chisapani hill top 2,325 m - 05 hrs.

Morning starts with interesting short drive heading North-East from the city of Kathmandu and valley rim to reach at small town Sundarijal, Sundarijal, a nice small farm town, beginning our walk with climb past farm villages with views of waterfalls to reach at entrance of Shivapuri National Park, from here walk into forest and scattered farm villages to reach Chisapani, located on a high ridge North of Kathmandu valley, at Chisapani with cool fresh air at an altitude above 2,325 m high facing views of snowcapped mountain ranges of Annapurna-Manaslu-Ganesh Himal, Lang tang Himal extending towards Jugal Himal including Kathmandu valley, at Chisapani enjoy fantastic sunrise and sunset views.

Day 04: Trek to Nagarkot 2,120 m - 05 hrs.

After a wonderful morning with great views of sunrise over the snow capped mountains, morning starts with an easy pleasant walk on the gradual wind path through enchanting rhododendron, pines forest then on the downhill path to the village of Chowki-bhanjyang, a small farm village overlooking the eastern side of the Kathmandu valley rim. After a nice break here journey carry’s on with a good walk on the gradual path for few hours passing through Jarsing Pawa 1,700m, from this village route diverts to the upper level on the small trail, and walking on the downhill path for a short distance to the village at Kartikya Bhanjyang. From here an hour uphill walk to the popular Nagarkot hill town for overnight stop.

Nagarkot, located at an elevation of 2,120 meters, this hill top is famous for stunning sunrises and sunset views reflecting its light on the range of snow capped mountains from Mt. Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, and Langtang-Jugal Himal with Mt. Gaurishankar includes to eastern horizon towards Everest range of peaks.

Day 05: Trek to Dhulikhel 1,530 m - 06 hrs.

From Nagarkot with an early morning views of sunrise over the beautiful snow capped mountains, walk starts on the winding path with gradual up through farm villages and cultivated terraced field on this remote and isolated place seldom trekked, the walk leads through nice forest with pleasant trail, the walk continues with few ups and more downhill all the way to another beautiful and popular hill destination at Dhulikhel, famous for Mountain Resorts with panorama of mountain range, this old Newar town lies beyond the eastern rim of Kathmandu valley with nice and comfortable resorts, hotels and lodge.

Day 06: Drive to Kathmandu with visit of holy Namobuddha - 04 hrs.

After a wonderful time at Dhulikhel within pristine nature, after breakfast a short drive to reach holy spot of Namobuddha in serene environment covered with lovely woodland of tall rhododendron-magnolia and pine trees.

Namobuddha a holiest of all holy sites for Buddhist followers and pilgrims, located south of Dhulikhel in pristine location, this unsurpassable supreme sacred sites known as ‘Three Stupas in Nepal’ is Tagmo Lüjin "The place where future Buddha sacrificed his body to a tigress".

Here enjoy its tranquil surroundings within shade of alpine tree lines along with views of mountains towards north, and with tour of its holy monuments of stupas and Gompa / monastery and shrines before ending marvelous time around great places beyond Kathmandu valley rim.

From here drive back to Kathmandu on same interesting highway with exciting moments as drive leads through rural farm villages and towns with views of mountains after few hours journey ending at Kathmandu, and then transfer to your respective hotels.

Day 07: In Kathmandu for individual activities and optional tour.

In Kathmandu reserved this extra day for you to enjoy individual activities and shopping souvenirs or join in another exciting tour around Kathmandu-Patan / Lalitpur and Bhaktapur of great interest.

Day 08: Depart for International flights homeward bound.

Final and last day in Nepal, country of high Himalaya and varied culture, after a memorable experience and great scenic time on Kathmandu Valley Rim Hike, with time for international flight our staff transfer you to the airport for  homeward bound or to your next port of call and respective destinations.
