Helambu Cultural Trek

Day 01: Reach Kathmandu 1,345 m and then transfer to respective Hotels

On reaching at Kathmandu international airport received by our representative and guide, then transfer for short drive in the heart of Kathmandu city and to your hotels.

After checking into your pleasant rooms then join in for group briefing regarding Helambu Cultural treks with other useful information to make your stay in Nepal with us more enjoyable and worth-while.

Evening includes group dinner in a nice Nepalese restaurant with cultural programs as entertainment.

Day 02: In Kathmandu sightseeing tour and preparations for trek.

Morning after breakfast in the hotel, our tour guide will take you in the heart of Kathmandu city, for exciting historical and heritage tour of old Durbar (royal palace and courtyard) square of great importance.

Tour includes Temple of Kumari (Living young virgin Goddess) Kastamandap Temple where Kathmandu name derived from, a temple built with the wood of a single tree, tour of old palace during the reign of Malla and late Shah kings.

As tour continues towards famed landmark of Nepal at Swayambhunath Stupa of more than 2,500 years old a Buddhist Chaitya or Stupa, facing all seeing eyes of Lord Buddha, as tour continues towards famed landmark of Nepal at Swayambhunath Stupa of more than 2,500 years old a Buddhist Chaitya or Stupa, facing all seeing eyes of Lord Buddha.

Afternoon tour of famous Hindu Temple of Pashupatinath and visit Bouddhanath Stupa, one of the largest dome shaped monument in Asia of Buddhist religion and culture.

After an exciting and interesting tour head back to hotel preparation for Helambu Cultural trek.

Day 03: Drive to Sundarijal 1,470 m and walk to Chisapani hill top 2,325 m - 05 hrs.

Morning starts with interesting short drive heading North-East from the city of Kathmandu and valley rim to reach at small town Sundarijal. Sundarijal, a nice small farm town, beginning our walk with climb past farm villages with views of waterfalls to reach at entrance of Shivapuri National Park, from here walk into forest and scattered farm villages to reach Chisapani, located on a high ridge North of Kathmandu valley, at Chisapani with cool fresh air at an altitude above 2,325 m high facing views of snowcapped mountain ranges of Annapurna-Manaslu-Ganesh Himal, Lang tang Himal extending towards Jugal Himal including Kathmandu valley, at Chisapani enjoy fantastic sunrise and sunset views.

Day 04: Trek to Kutumsang 2, 440 m - 06 hrs.

After grand morning views of sunrise over range of Himalayan peaks, second day walk starts heading downhill towards Pati Bhanjyang farm village, populated by Hindu Brahman and Chettries, from here continue with a climb for an hour and then on nice winding path into forest and villages to reach at Gulbhanjyang for refreshing stop or lunch break.

From this nice farm Tamang village where our route leads to a climb with short descend to Chipplin village, walking past farm villages with views of rolling green hills and snowcapped peaks till Kutumsang is reached for overnight stop.

Kutumsang a farm village with mixed hill people Sherpa-Hyalmo and Tamang ethnic tribes also offers grand views of snowcapped mountains, afternoon free at leisure to explore this small lovely village and its scenic surrounding.

Day 05: Trek to Melamche-Gaon 2,560 m via high Tadepatti 3,595 m - 06 hrs.

From Kutumsang, morning walk leads to a climb to over Yurin Danda ridge into serene forest of rhododendron, pines and oak trees as walk reach a small pass at 3,510 meter high, and then with short descent into cool forest area to reach an open wide area.

After short rest short climb as our route diverts from main trail of Langtang and Gosainkund area with Helambu, climb towards high Tadepatti for lunch around its few fine lodges on this highest point of the trek, offers great views of rolling hills and high snow peaks of Langtang and Jugal mountain range.

With pleasant scenic refreshing stop at Thadepatti as morning walk leads to short climb to a ridge overlooking views of peaks with Jugal Himal range and Ganesh-Manaslu towards west.

From the top downhill to Malamche-Gaon into Helambu area as downhill leads into dense rhododendron and pine forest to reach at the base of a hill on nice grassy field, from here walking into farm fields to Malamche-Gaon village for overnight stop around Hyalmo people with some Sherpa, and Tamang tribes.

Day 06: Walk to Tarke-Ghyang 2,591 m - 04 hrs.

Morning walk from Malamche leads to major village of Helambu at Tarke Ghyang, as route leads downhill to Melamchi River and at small farm village, crossing river over suspension bridge, then climb above the river for an hour to reach Tarke-Ghyang village via Nakote village for lunch and overnight stop.

Tarke-Ghyang, famous for Buddhist culture, wood carving and delicious green apples also.

Afternoon free to explore this lovely village and the old monastery of Ama Yangri situated on top of the village.

Day 07: Trek to Sermathang - 2,595 m - 05 hrs.

Morning on leaving nice village of Tarke Ghyang walk downhill into forested trail passing many Chorten (Buddhist prayer monuments), summer meadows to reach Gangyul a small village, then following the path with wonderful views of rolling hills to reach at Shermathang for overnight stop, another cute and lovely Hyalmo village here with time to visit another old interesting monastery.

Day 08: Trek on route Melamche Bazaar 1,100 m and drive to Kathmandu - 05 hrs.

After a wonderful time around Helambu within pristine nature, continue walk for few hours walk on long downhill trail to Melamche town with a busy bazaar then drive back to Kathmandu, few hours of pleasant drive brings you in Kathmandu after a wonderful time in the high hills of Himalaya. Morning an early drive back to Kathmandu on same interesting highway with exciting moments as drive leads through rural farm villages and towns with views of mountains after six hours journey ending at Kathmandu, and then transfer to your respective hotels.

Day 09: In Kathmandu for individual activities and optional tour.

In Kathmandu reserved this extra day for you to enjoy individual activities and shopping souvenirs or join in another exciting tour around Kathmandu-Patan / Lalitpur and Bhaktapur of great interest.

Day 10: Depart for International flights homeward bound.

Final and last day in Nepal, country of high Himalaya and varied culture, after a memorable experience and great scenic time on Helambu Cultural trekking, with time for international flight our staff transfer you to the airport for  homeward bound or to your next port of call and respective destinations.
